C-Roads Antwerp-Helmond
Description
C-Roads Antwerp-Helmond has the ambition to integrate C-ITS with
- Advanced driving assisting systems (ADAS) by linking ISA and C-ITS Day-1 services
- Urban vehicle access regulations (UVAR)
- (Urban) mobility services like Truck-buffering (traffic information and smart routing), light prioritisation (for emergency vehicles, trucks and bikes) and multimodal information (P+R)
The combination of these services should lead to better road safety and liveability. To ensure these services, the following goals have to be achieved:
- Cross-border and interoperability testing of the services between Antwerp and Helmond available
- Establishment of cross-site tests with other C-Roads pilots
- Evaluation of the different services functional and impact assessment as well as user acceptance
- Development of scalability strategies (going to market) for the different services
The project setup focusses on:
- the deployment of combined Day-1 and Day-1.5 C-ITS services in Antwerp and Helmond
- Test and deploy 40 OBUs for ISA and UVAR
- Test with 250 professional drivers equipped with the C-ITS truck services, including traffic light priority
- 500 private drivers testing the C-ITS services on an application in combination with multi-modal mobility and (temporarily) UVAR information
- 350 active users (bicyclist, micro-mobility, and shared bike users) testing the application on UVAR and green light priority
