Task Force Hybrid Communication

The work in C-roads WG2 has been initially focused on short range communication and setting up the scenarios. However, C-Roads also has an obligation regarding long range communication. Both solutions have high relevance due to the different character of the European road transport system i.e. densely and not so densely populated areas. There are of course also different national strategies for deployment of C-ITS services. To cater for long range communication and associated issues, TF4 “Hybrid communication” was established. Sweden has volunteered for the leadership due to their NordicWay 2 obligations. One important issue is to consider how to take advantage of work done so far when engaging in new challenges.
